Important note to self

Well, working on the plumbing, which I'll get to in a sec, and got ravenously hungry. Being always prepared, there was a Pukka Pie in the freezer, so I lobbed it onto a plate and into the microwave for 4 minutes........

So anyways, turns out none of my van crockery is microwaveable lol. Having melted a rather trippy pattern into one of my small melamine plates, I ate the pie anyway, with a smattering of plate flakes and a fine chianti ( finest hannibal lecter lips smack lol)

So having warmed the audience with an anecdote explicitly displaying to the populace how ignorant I am of melamine properties, I shall move to the next order of business, to whit, my freaking water pump is doing my head in!

For the majority of the time it works perfectly, until some moron lets the water tank run out, although in that moron's defence, I don't have a water level monitor on any of my tanks. So last time the tank fell barren, I filled it back up, and ever since then the water pump makes a horrible noise whenever the taps are turned on. It's a pressure activated pump, and self-primes, but just seems to lock a rattly lil bubble in the diaphragm. Anyone any ideas on how to shift it, I've tried some fairly surreal things which I won't share right now lol. That means I'm open to any and all suggestions :)

Battery problems

Having hopefully found a replacement half-shaft, just need to ensure it's the right one, I decided to check on the internals, ready to be back on the road. I have three 110ah leisure batteries, which can power my 240 volt for about a thousand years..... Well ok, at least a weekend of constant telly. For some reason they were all dead. Not even enough to light a fluorescent tube. Have now disconnected them and nearly finished charging each one individually.

I have doubts that my old Zig CF6 has the gumption to charge all three, but strange that they died practically overnight with nothing having been left on.

Also have a recurring problem with my porta potti, for no reason the seal will go and if you pour water into the top pot, it leaks out before you pull the flush handle. Ok if it's just water, not so hot if it's pee lol.

Anyway I guess these are minor gripes considering I can't start her at the moment, and if I could, still need the half shaft fitted, before I can even straighten her out onto the drive.

I hope to be up and running soon as I will be touring as many campsites as possible, marketing my new product, The Oxbox, to campsite owners to ensure it's use is allowed on as many campsites as possible. To anyone interested, Oxbox information is available at www.Oxbox.es although the website is in beta at the moment, and that has its own blog which is always worth a read.

Thanks to my subscribers, and I'll post more when things actually start moving, literally and figuratively. In the mean time I hope everyone has been loving the weather. I took a tent to one of my favourite campsites in Hamble, Riverside Holidays on Satchell Lane, and had a great day/evening. Met some interesting people and had an enjoyable glass of wine or two. I thoroughly recommend it. They were the first ever UK campsite to allow the use of an Oxbox on their site, so I'll always love them forever.

Anyway, time to sign off folks.
